Program templates

Build a program once — phases, weeks, workouts, habits, content and check-ins — and reuse it for many clients. Part of the Online Coaching beta.

What it is

With the Online Coaching beta on, a program template is a program you build once and reuse for many clients. It is laid out in phases (for example "Base", "Build" and "Peak"), weeks and days, and each day can hold:

  • Workouts — exercises with sets, reps, load, tempo and rest, picked from your exercise library or typed.
  • Habits — something your client tracks every day for a number of days (7 by default, up to 84): a simple yes/no ("Walk 20 minutes"), a count with a target ("8 glasses of water") or a number with a unit and a target ("2.5 litres"). Clients log them in the app — see Habits for your clients.
  • Content — a short article you write, a link, or a PDF.
  • Check-ins — a form from your check-ins or one of Stund's starter forms.

Templates are for fitness programming — training plans, technique, habits and general wellbeing — not for medical treatment or rehabilitation.

Who can do what

Templates are shared with everyone in your business who works with clients' programs. Every coach can open a template and duplicate it. Only the template's own coach, owners and admins can change or archive it. A copy belongs to the coach who made it, so they can change it freely.

Building a template

  1. Open Programs and choose New template. Give it a name, pick its coach, and choose how it unlocks (see below).
  2. Choose Edit phases to name the phases, if you use them. A template has at most 8.
  3. In the grid, choose + on a week and day, then the kind of item: workout, habit, content or check-in. Fill it in and save.
  4. To add a week, use the empty week at the bottom of a phase. A template can run for up to 52 weeks and hold up to 400 items.

Choose an item in the grid to change it, move it to another day or phase, or delete it.

Unlocking

Each template unlocks one of two ways:

  • By date — every item opens on its own day.
  • In order — an item opens on its day, and only once the item before it is done. Habits don't wait: they open on their day.

Until an item opens, your client sees only its name.

Duplicating, and saving a client's program

Choose Duplicate on a template to make your own copy. On a client's page you can also choose Save as template on one of their programs: its phases, workouts, habits, links and check-ins are copied, but nothing written or added for that client — instructions, notes, articles and PDFs — and nothing they logged. Stund tells you how many articles or PDFs were left out.

PDFs

A PDF you add to a content item is stored privately, and counts towards your business's file storage. Copies of a template share the same PDF; it is deleted when the last item using it is.

Giving it to clients

Open a client and choose Assign template: they get their own copy, dated from the day you pick, which you can then change for them alone. A membership or a package can also come with a template, so every new member or buyer gets a copy automatically. See "Giving a program template to a client".
